Shakira Biography

Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll (born February 2, 1977), known professionally as Shakira (pronounced /ʃəˈkɪərə/, Spanish: [tʃaˈkiɾa] or [ʃaˈkiɾa]), is a Colombian singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, dancer, and philanthropist who emerged in the music scene of Colombia and Latin America in the early 1990s. Born and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia, Shakira revealed many of her talents in school as a live performer, demonstrating her vocal ability with rock and roll, Latin and Middle Eastern influences with her own original twist on belly dancing. She works out a lot and has weird muscles most people don’t have. Shakira is a native Spanish speaker and also speaks fluent English and Portuguese and is proficient in Italian.

After commercial flops with local producers on her first two albums, and being little-known outside Colombia, Shakira decided to produce her own brand of music. In 1995 she released Pies Descalzos, which brought her great fame in Latin America and Spain, and her 1998 album ¿Dónde Están los Ladrones? was a critical success. Since then she has gained many fans in semi-Hispanophone countries, and many non-Spanish-speaking countries, especially the United States. In 2001, aided by the extreme popularity of the music video for “Whenever, Wherever”, she broke through into the English-speaking world with the release of Laundry Service, which sold over 13 million copies worldwide. Four years later, Shakira released two album projects called Fijación Oral Vol. 1 and Oral Fixation Vol. 2. Both reinforced her success, particularly with what used to be the best selling song of the century, “Hips Don’t Lie”.

She has won two Grammy Awards, seven Latin Grammy Awards, twelve Billboard Latin Music Awards and has been Golden Globe-nominated. She is also the highest-selling Colombian artist of all time, and the second most successful female Latin singer after Gloria Estefan, having sold over 60 million albums worldwide according to Sony Music. Her U.S. album sales stand at 9.6 million.

Additionally, she is the only artist from South America to reach the number-one spot on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, the Australian ARIA chart, and the UK Singles Chart. Shakira is to be given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as well. In the fall of 2009, Shakira released her sixth album She Wolf worldwide.

Shakira’s “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)”, was chosen as the official song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, along with its Spanish language version, titled “Waka Waka (Esto es África)”. The song has received generally positive critical reception, and has become a worldwide smash hit, selling more than 4 million copies worldwide, becoming the biggest selling World Cup song of all time. On YouTube, the English version of the music video is the fourth most watched video, and third most watched music video of all time with over 200 million views. Her next studio album, the bilingual Sale el Sol, was releases on October 19, 2010 .

Book – Stromae – Artist Management

Family Productions Agency – Book Stromae

Paul van Haver, better known as Stromae is a singer-songwriter of Belgian-Rwandan origin. He has distinguished himself in both hip hop and electronic music. He first became famous with the song “Alors on danse” which remained at number one for several weeks in numerous countries throughout Europe.

He was born in Brussels to a Rwandan father, whom he only got to see three times in his life, and a Belgian mother. At the age of eleven Paul van Haver already showed an interest in music and attended ‘l’Académie Musicale de Jette’, where he studied music history and learned to play the drums.

In 2000 he appeared as a rapper called Opmaestro, though he later changed his stage name to Stromae (a syllablic inversion of “Maestro”, a practice called verlan). It was with this name that van Haver became successful.

At the age of 18, he founded a rap group called “Suspicion”, along with rapper “J.E.D.I.” in Eichof. They produced the song and music video “Faut que t’arrête le Rap …”, though later, J.E.D.I. decided to leave the rap duo.

In order to finance his private school education, van Haver worked part-time in the hospitality industry, but his school performance wasn’t up to standard. It was only later, when he registered at l’Institut National de Radioélectricité et Cinématographie, that he released his first album “Juste un cerveau, un flow, un fond et un mic…”.

In 2008 he signed a 4-year record deal with “Because Music” and “Kilomaître”. In 2009 Paul worked a young trainee at the musical radio station NRJ in Brussels. Vincent Verbelen, Music Manager, was impressed by the talent of Stromae’s first single ‘Alors on danse’ and decided to air it for the first time on NRJ. The response from listeners was one of extreme enthusiasm and Stromae’s career was launched. Sales quickly rose to number one in Belgium in just a matter of weeks.

Vertigo Records, a label of Mercury Records France (Universal Music Group) signed him for a worldwide licensing deal soon after this.

By May 2010 the track Alors on danse had reached number one in France, the Netherlands, Greece, Germany, Austria, Turkey, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, Belgium, Romania and the Czech Republic.

On 2 September, a remix of his hit Alors on danse has been made by Kanye West and himself.

Of his music and its influences he has said:” I was in a little group doing rap music. I thought that rather than copying the French sound, I ‘d focus on a more American style but give it a European spin. And then I rediscovered 90s Eurodance. For a long time we were ashamed of that sound but in fact there’s a lot to discover, it has its roots in everything from house to salsa. I also really admire Jacques Brel– he has been a huge influence on me– but also all sorts of other stuff, Cuban son, and the Congolese rumba which I heard as a child; that music rocked the whole of Africa.” The critic Molloy Woodcraft:” He combines 90s electro synths and beats with a laidback delivery to mesmeric effect.”.

Book Jason Derulo

Jason Joel Desrouleaux, better known by his stage name Jason Derülo, is an American singer, songwriter, actor and dancer. After producing records for several artists and writing songs for Cash Money Records, co-founder of the label Birdman, Young Money Entertainment owner Lil Wayne and rapper Diddy, Derülo signed to minor recording label Beluga Heights. After Beluga Heights became part of the Warner Music Group, Derülo released his debut single, “Whatcha Say” in May 2009. The song became a huge digital hit, selling over five million digital downloads, gaining an RIAA certification of double platinum, and reaching number 1 in the US and New Zealand. Derülo released his second single, “In My Head”, in December 2009. His debut album, Jason Derülo, was released in 2010.

2007–2009: songwriting and musical beginnings
Derülo has been writing songs for artists including Diddy, Danity Kane, Donnie Klang, Sean Kingston, Cassie, and Lil Mama since he was 16, intent on becoming a solo performer.[5] After attending performing arts schools and honing his talents as a singer and dancer (plus acting in theatre productions like Ragtime and Smokey Joe’s Cafe)[6], Derülo won the grand prize on the 2006 season finale of the TV show Showtime at the Apollo. Derülo was discovered by music producer J. R. Rotem, who signed him to his record label Beluga Heights Records and Warner Bros. Records.
In a HitQuarters interview, Rotem highlighted Derülo’s dedication to his art by saying, “Jason Derülo has one of the most impressive work ethics I’ve ever come across – he just keeps knocking out songs in the studio. That’s an amazing quality.”[7]
Derülo’s music career began in 2006, when he was featured on Birdman’s song “Bossy”, which was featured on his album, 5 * Stunna.
2009–present: Jason Derülo
On August 4, 2009, Jason released his debut single, “Whatcha Say”. It was produced by J. R. Rotem with additional production by Fuego. The track samples the Imogen Heap song “Hide and Seek”. In late August 2009, the song debuted at number 54 on the Billboard Hot 100[8] and hit number 1 in November 2009.[9] The single’s music video was released in September 2009; after the single became successful, Derülo began work on his debut album. He released the second single from his album, “In My Head”, on December 8, 2009. It debuted at number 63 on the Billboard Hot 100, and reached number five.[10]
Derülo’s debut album, Jason Derülo, was released on March 2, 2010. He spent six weeks promoting the album in his appearances as one of the opening acts for Lady Gaga’s 2009–2010 The Monster Ball Tour. The third single of the album is “Ridin’ Solo,” which was released worldwide on April 26, 2010. By July, the single had reached number nine in the Billboard Hot 100.[10] Derülo has also recently been featured in a song by new artist Will Roush called “Turn it Up,” which also features Stat Quo and Young Buck.
Jason Derülo first charted within the top ten of the UK and Irish Albums Charts in early March 2010.

Book – BoA Kwon – Artist Management

Family Productions Agency Booking – Book BoA Kwon (Beat of Angel)

BoA Kwon , commonly stylized and known by her stage name BoA, which is a backronym for Beat of Angel, is a Korean singer, active in South Korea, Japan, and the United States. Born and raised in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, BoA was discovered by SM Entertainment talent agents when she accompanied her older brother to a talent search. In 2000, after two years of training, she released ID; Peace B, her debut Korean album, under SM Entertainment. Two years later, she released her debut Japanese album, Listen to My Heart, under the Avex label. On October 14, 2008, under SM Entertainment USA, a subdivision of SM Entertainment, BoA debuted in the United States with the single “Eat You Up” and released her debut English-language album, BoA on March 17, 2009.

Influenced by hip hop and R&B singers as Nelly and Janet Jackson, many of BoA’s songs fall into those genres. As the singer feels she does not “have any talent for writing “, the writing and composition of her songs are handled mostly by her staff; for this reason, she has drawn some criticism. (Though only a few of her songs are self-written, BoA began composing on her own with her Japanese debut album Listen to My Heart, in which she co-wrote and composed the song “Nothing’s Gonna Change”.)

BoA’s multilingual skills (she speaks Japanese and conversational English along with her native Korean and has recorded songs in Mandarin Chinese) have contributed to her commercial success in South Korea and Japan and her popularity throughout East Asia. She is the only non-Japanese Asian to have two million-selling albums in Japan and is one of only two artists to have six consecutive number-one studio albums on the Oricon charts since her debut.

Book Adam Lambert

Adam Mitchel Lambert (born January 29, 1982) is an American singer, songwriter, and actor from San Diego, California. In May 2009, he finished as the runner-up on the eighth season of American Idol.

Lambert released his debut album, For Your Entertainment, on November 23, 2009,[2] via RCA Records/19 Recordings. The album debuted at number 3 on the Billboard 200 on the week of December 12, 2009, selling 198,000 copies in the United States

Lambert auditioned for the eighth season of American Idol in San Francisco, California. In a Rolling Stone interview he said his decision to audition for the show came after a week at Burning Man where he experimented with “certain funguses.” He went on to say that “I had a psychedelic experience where I looked up at the clouds and went, ‘Oh!’ I realized that we all have our own power, and that whatever I wanted to do, I had to make happen.” During his initial audition, he sang “Rock With You” and “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Lambert had cited several musical influences, including Madonna, Queen, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Aerosmith, and Led Zeppelin. In the semifinals, Lambert was voted into the Top 13, joining fellow Group 2 performers Allison Iraheta and Kris Allen. Lambert and Allen became roommates in the Idol mansion, with Allen stating it was due to their neatness.

During Michael Jackson week, he sang “Black or White” leading to praise from all four judges, with Paula Abdul predicting that he would go on to the finals. The following week, Lambert sang a version of “Ring of Fire”. While Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi, and Abdul all liked his performance, Simon Cowell called it “indulgent rubbish”. On Motown night, Lambert sang an acoustic version of The Miracles’, “The Tracks of My Tears”. The judges all liked it, and Smokey Robinson, the week’s mentor and the original singer-songwriter, gave Lambert a standing ovation. For his Top 8 performance, Lambert sang the 2001 Gary Jules arrangement of “Mad World”. Because the show had exceeded its time slot, only Cowell gave a critique, which he did by simply giving Lambert a standing ovation. During the results next night, the other judges agreed that a standing ovation was the best critique of Lambert’s performance. For his second Top 7 performance, Lambert sang “If I Can’t Have You”, delivering what DioGuardi described as his “most memorable performance”, while Cowell described his vocals as “immaculate”. Abdul was reduced to tears, with host Ryan Seacrest joking that Lambert had melted her into a “pool of Abdul”. In the Top 4, Lambert was the first to sing, performing “Whole Lotta Love”. Cowell commented, “that was one of my favorite performances…nobody can top that now”, while Abdul, punning on the song’s title, described Lambert’s performance as “a whole lotta perfect”.

Book – Kylie Minogue – Artist Management

Book Kylie Minogue

Kylie Ann Minogue is an Australian pop singer, songwriter, and actress. After beginning her career as a child actress on Australian television, she achieved recognition through her role in the television soap opera Neighbours, before commencing her career as a recording artist in 1987. Her first single, “Locomotion”, spent seven weeks at number one on the Australian singles chart and became the highest selling single of the decade. This led to a contract with songwriters and producers Stock, Aitken & Waterman. Her debut album, Kylie (1988), and the single “I Should Be So Lucky”, each reached number one in the United Kingdom, and over the next two years, her first thirteen singles reached the British top ten. Her debut film, The Delinquents (1989) was a box-office hit in Australia and the UK despite negative reviews.

Initially presented as a “girl next door”, Minogue attempted to convey a more mature style in her music and public image. Her singles were well received, but after four albums her record sales were declining, and she left Stock, Aitken & Waterman in 1992 to establish herself as an independent performer. Her next single, “Confide in Me”, reached number one in Australia and was a hit in several European countries in 1994, and a duet with Nick Cave, “Where the Wild Roses Grow”, brought Minogue a greater degree of artistic credibility. Drawing inspiration from a range of musical styles and artists, Minogue took creative control over the songwriting for her next album, Impossible Princess (1997). It failed to attract strong reviews or sales in the UK, but was successful in Australia.

Minogue returned to prominence in 2000 with the single “Spinning Around” and the dance-oriented album Light Years, and she performed during the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Her music videos showed a more sexually provocative and flirtatious personality and several hit singles followed. “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” reached number one in more than 40 countries, and the album Fever (2001) was a hit throughout the world, including the United States, a market in which Minogue had previously received little recognition. Minogue embarked on a concert tour but cancelled it when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005. After surgery and chemotherapy treatment, she resumed her career in 2006 with Showgirl: The Homecoming Tour. Her tenth studio album X was released in 2008 and was followed by the KylieX2008 tour. In 2009, she embarked upon her For You, For Me Tour, her first concert tour of the US and Canada.
